Family Update

Zoe and Cole are doing really good, they are both growing and are healthy. Zoe loves her baby brother! Aaron and I are doing well just trying to get everything ready for the move, Aaron and I just recently started this new workout regime called p90x and its killer. Its feels like training for a marathon again! I will post our 30 day before and after pictures when we get to 30 days.

Cole was blessed this past Sunday and all of Aaron's family and my family was able to be there for it. Aaron's great-grandpa was able to be in the blessing circle which was really cool.

This past weekend was Aaron's great-grandpa's 100th birthday! We celebrated on both saturday and sunday! We love Grandpa Kirk! Also I finally got Zoe and Cole to both cooperate for a picture! They are both happy and healthy. I thought Zoe was a good baby but Cole makes her look fussy! Seriously the guy hardly cries he just fusses a little until you get a bottle in his mouth or pat his back. We love our kids! Zoe has the cutest personality her new thing to do is to ask me and Aaron about 100 times a day," but why?" example:

Me: Zoe don't go into the street without holding my hand

Me: because you could get hit by a car and get hurt

The past two weeks have gone by so fast. Cole has been such a good baby, really I don't know what I did to deserve a baby that only wakes up once between 10 and 6 it is heaven! Zoe loves Cole and she is such a good helper. She has been having fun going to the pool and swimming all summer! As for me and Aaron we are loving having two kids! Aaron is going to be starting his job in Vegas in the next month and he will be working shifts about every other weekend till we move down there in November.

So Cole has been home for 6 days now and he is such a great baby. The NICU had him on a feeding schedule so he eats and sleeps great for a newborn. He wakes up twice to eat at night which is nice for Aaron and I because we can switch of feedings. Zoe loves Cole and is so helpful. She is so protective of him and gets anxious when anyone besides Aaron or I hold him. My family also came down last weekend for the 4th of July and to see Cole. Zoe loves when they visit, she gets so spoiled!

He is coming home

Cole is coming home tonight!!!! We are thrilled beyond belief! Zoe is so excited that she finally gets to meet her baby brother! I can't wait for my crib in my bedroom to not be empty anymore! Cole is now on room air and is just working on his feedings. He has to take all his feedings by bottle for 48 hours and gain weight to come home. We are hoping that he will be home within the next week. Thank you all for the support and prayers in Cole's behalf, it means the world to me and Aaron that we have so many friends and family members supporting us through this.

So they finally let us hold Cole today. We only got to hold him for 5 minutes each and only once a day but it was so amazing to finally hold him. I love him so much and its so hard to just watch him there all alone and so it was nice to be able to hold him and kiss him. Also they had a little class for the siblings of babies who are in the NICU since they can't go back and see them. They had little activities that showed what they babies slept in and how they eat with the tubes and how we scrub in before we are allowed back there. She really liked it and when we were done they gave her a goodie bag with all sorts of things in it like baby lotion and a syringe some treats and a feeding tube. They also took her picture and put into a little frame she colored for us to hang in Cole's bed.

Cole arrived at 10:09 am on June 19th. He is still down in the newborn icu and will probably remain there for another couple weeks. He is having a hard time breathing but the NICU is taking such good care of him and he is starting to stablize. He is going to be receiving a blood transfusion tonight to help with his anemia. He is such a beautiful baby with a head full of dark almost black hair. Aaron and I are doing okay and can't wait until we can hold our baby, hopefully in a few days. Zoe keeps asking when she can see baby brother but they won't let her back to see him which is probably best I think all the tubes and lines would scare her. We will post pictures soon.

More Baby News

So I went to the doctor on Wed. and he scheduled me for July 2nd for the c-section which will put Cole at 36 weeks which is already pretty early but he can't go longer than that its to dangerous. But he also informed me that on my latest blood test my antibodies doubled again which have them worried because they have gone up so much in just the last 3 weeks. So on Thursday the 18th I have another test on his temporal ateriery and there is a good chance that they will be taking the baby in the next week or so. We are so glad that we have great doctors that know what they are doing but its so scary to know how dangerous this can be. You always hear about everyone else who has problems in there pregnancy but you never think it will be you ecspecially when you are so close to the end of the pregnancy. It also means we probably can't have anymore kids naturally unless we do invitro and implant an embryo that is a negative blood type like mine. It sucks having someone tell you that you have to possibly be done having kids and not being able to make that decision on your own. Wish us luck we will keep you updated.

Sooner than planned

So baby Cole will have to arrive sooner than plan. During the whole pregnancy they have been watching these antibodies that I have but they were not going up so we thought we were in the safe zone. Well last Thursday my doctor called and told me that the anitbodies had gone up and that I needed to meet with the perinatologist to have them check the baby to see if my blood cells were killing off his blood cells. The results were good he is on the lower to mid side of anemic which means that my body hasn't killed off too many yeat so he can stay a little longer but they have to recheck in 10 days, if its worse they will take him then if they are the same then they will take him about 10 days after that. They don't want me to go beyond that because he will be to far along to check. So we are so glad that he is at least getting 10 more days in there to grow and hope he can get at least 20. You never want to have to take them until they are ready but the risks are just to great. We will keep you posted.

Not your average ultrasound picture

Yesterday Aaron and I went to the hospital. I was having severe abdominal cramping and I thought I was in labor I couldn't even move. While there they did an ultrasound to check out the baby and he was fine. They then looked higher up and saw that my gallbladder is FULL of gallstones. On one screen alone you could see 6. All through this pregnancy I have had really bad stomach cramps and such but never thought gallstones! Well needless to say after I deliver this baby me and my gallbladder will be parting ways. Also during the ultrasound they baby is now measuring 2 weeks ahead and is already 4lbs. What is with me and having these big babies. Zoe was almost 8 lbs at 37 weeks! So looks like he might be coming closer to the 4th of july!

Our Vegas trip and Mother's Day

Zoe and I spent a week in Vegas with my family. She loved going swimming and she loved her "wings" ( thats what she called her floaties). After the week was up my family came up for Mothers day and J.C. Leach's wedding. It was so fun to have them up here. Temple square was beautiful, the tulips were amazing. I am 30 weeks pregnant and stressed trying to get everything ready for this baby. I was secretly hoping for a girl so that I could avoid the stress of having to purchase brand new everything since I had a gazillon girl clothes and items. But it has been fun to go shopping and buy things for a boy. We are excited for him to get here and to see what he looks like.

The Farm, the zoo and some big news

We went to Wheeler Farm this weekend and Zoe fed the geese and saw the cows and horses, then today we went to the zoo with some of Zoe's friends. She loves animals. And the big news is Aaron got offered a job with EmCare down in Las Vegas working in the Valley System ER's ( same company my uncle Darrin works for) we will start part-time shifts in August everyother weekend so he can be trained then will move down for full time in November after his contract up here is up. Aaron is really excited to work in the Emergency Room he is starting to get bored of replacing hips and knees!!

Zoe had ( note the past tense) a travel sized bottle of baby powder. She liked to use it to pretend to change her baby's diapers. She has had it for months and has never attempted to open it so we thought we were safe. Well today she was in her room playing with her babydolls and I was in the next room on the computer. Then this ghostly looking girl with white powder covering her came in and looked at me and said, " Mommy.... I spilled." To make this story short her are the pictures of her room and her baby changing table. She doesn't have as much powder on her as she did when she walked into the room because it fell like pixie dust of her cute little body making a trail on my carpet! I guess there are worse things you can spill on the carpet and now Zoe's room smells powdery fresh!

I almost cried she tells us she loves us too when we tell her we love her but she has never said it on her own like that! It makes all the tantrums and stress of being a mother worth it.

Anyone who runs knows how much a good jogger makes a difference. Aaron and I have been saving up for what I consider the Bentley of jogging strollers, the BOB, and yesterday we bought it. REI was having this great sale and we saved 120 dollars on it! I can't wait for Aaron to get home so we can take this baby for a test drive! We love to run and can't wait to have this baby so we can train for another marathon with our BOB stroller

So we broke down and gave in to the peer pressure to find out the sex of our baby. Its a boy. I know what all the houston side is thinking.."are the Browne's capable of producing a male." Well this picture proves that, yes,we infact can. That is not an extra umbilical cord. Its a piece of male anatomy. We have narrowed the name down to either Cole or Gavin!

How Zoe has spent the last week

So we went to Vegas for Aarons conference and to celebrate Zoe's birthday. Starting on Wed. she started throwing up and then in turned in to the nastiest, smelliest diaharea Zoe has ever gotten. She would just cry and cry and say her tummy hurt. This all started Wed. the 25th and today the 4th of March is the first day that she is eating and drinking normally and hasn't had diaharea. Starting from the bottom of the post to the top picture is a sequence of how Zoe was spending her days when she wasn't crying from her hurting tummy. It was heartbreaking to watch. We are still staying seculuded for one more day. I don't want to be the mom who gave let her little girl spread this awful Rotavirus to every kid.

So the weather has been relatively nice here and by nice I mean no snow. It is still FREEZING to me but me and Zoe brave the weather every few days and spend some time at the park. As long as the wind isn't blowing its fine. We stay pretty bundled up! Oh how I can't wait for my Vegas winter next year! Here are some pictures from the park. Birthday Day Party Part 1

Since we have family in 2 states we are having 2 birthday parties. We had part one last week. Zoe had so much fun opening her presents. Aaron's mom made her a cute apron to wear when she bakes with me. Zoe's favorite thing was her trucks though. Yes, my daughter plays with trucks and thats okay she loves them! Also just a side note, I know this is the second half naked baby post, but I promise she wears clothes. I just didn't want her to get cake all over her cute outfit and taken them off is much easier then trying to have Zoe aim for a bib!

So while making the Valentine cards pictured below I wanted to get a picture of Zoe to put on the card for Aaron. Anyone who has a 2 year old can sympathize with me that a seemingly easy task is, in fact, not so easy. After taking her bow out of her hair and making me chase her around the house for literally 30 min. these are the ONLY 2 pictures out of probably 80 of her looking at the camera or at me. She literally wouldn't look at me because she knew that I really wanted to take a cute picture so therefore she had to avoid me at all costs because that is a 2 year olds job. So sorry Aaron your not going to get a picture on your Valentine. Believe me we tried!!

Zoe and I decided to do craft day for Aaron and make him some Valentines Cards. Zoe had so much fun shaking the glitter and using the glue. Sorry for the naked baby pictures but I wasn't going to let her get glue and glitter on her outfit!!! She is so excited to give her card to daddy. We hid it up in her closet.

The Lipstick and The Window

Zoe decided to take the Princess Pink lipstick and give Grandma Pams windows some new decor. This all happened within a 60 second period of me being out of the room. After surveying the damage and taking pictures for evidence. I had the convicted lipstick decorater ( she was caught pink handed) help me clean up the window. Only a grandparent can look at this and laugh like my parents did. If we would have done this as kids we wouldn't have gotten off so easy!!

Lately we have been trying to get Zoe to say Roslyn or Gavin because those are the names we have decided on for the baby and with out fail everytime Zoe gets this serious face and looks at me and Aaron and says " NO Baby Elmo" She tells everyone including the doctor today that she is getting a baby Elmo. The doctor reassured us that he has never delivered a baby Elmo, sorry Zoe.

So Zoe's hair had gotten so long and I am a big fan of little girls with bangs and short hair, so we cut it and I blowed dried it straight, isn't she so cute. It's even cuter when it is curly because now her curls just bounce up! I love having a little girl to play beauty shop with!

New Years Resolution.

My mother bought Aaron and I this book for New Year's. It is one of the most powerful books I have ever read. It show you how to get out of debt ( student loan for us) and live credit card free. I can't give this book justice with my words. It is incredible. Aaron and I are 100% on the bandwagon with this one. He has such a clear few of how to take a hold of your money and be the master of your money not a slave. On his plan Aaron and I can be debt free, cars, student loans and all in about 2 1/2 to 3 years ( keep in mind that the average person dies with there student loan debt) all that it will take it taking hold of that 2 year old inside us that cries " I want, I want, I want" and put him in time-out. There is no reason for us to be a slave to payments every month for the rest of our lives. We are ready to live our lives debt free. If we can't pay cash for it, we don't need it PERIOD. He even suggest 100% down on a house. Impossible you say, but why, WHY NOT! Now that Aarons career has started we are going to start having our money work for us not vica versa. We are ready to live like nobody else now so that later we can live like nobody else. I urge everyone readying this blog to purchase this book. Unless you have 5 million dollars in a Mutual Account you can't afford not to. I know we couldn't. This isn't a get rich fast scheme it is a systematic approach to attacking your debt, having an emergency fund, paying of your mortgage and investing for your retirement. So no more frivolous purchase's for us anymore. No more " I want, I want, I want" It will be more than worth it, no shopping spree can replace the feeling of wanting to be debt free and finacialy secure. I know I sound fanatic but I am. Read it and you will be too, I promise.

The Most AMAZING experience

On December 29th Aaron and I went with his family to the Jazz game where we got to stay in the Hunstmans Box Suite. When we got to the door that had 2 security guards which was weird but once we got inside we realized why. Our Prophet, President Monson was there. Sitting at the table eating his plate of fruit. We got to speak with him and share 2 hours with him there in that box. He cheered along with everyone for the game, he seemed like any other Jazz fan in his nice suit. He didn't preach to use or give us spirtual guidance. What he gave to us was more. He showed me that the Lord truly does call simple, sweet people to do Great and Marvelous things. I know that he is the Lords Prophet here on the earth and that he loves me and everyone. I felt that love when he shook my hand. That was definelty a once in a lifetime experience and I am grateful that I was able to receive it.

Worst Blogger Ever

I know that I have been neglecting my blogging responsibility but the Tate family has been way busy. We just moved into our place up in Salt Lake. You should have seen it. Aaron had to work that day so it was me (the pregnant lady), Aaron's dad Paul with a bad knee and Carolee. They were real troopers that was so much to get done but we did it. Aaron really likes his new job and loves doing the surgerys even if it does keep him away for long hours :( Zoe is loving life and is so excited to have a baby sister or brother. Don't bother asking what we are having because we have decided not to find out! Baby Tate will be here in July. I promise to post pictures soon ( by friday I promise) I hope all is well with everyone and that they are enjoing there New Year.

Today was Aarons last day of school! We are so excited! He will be taking his national boards on November 11th and then that night we are headed out to Disneyland for a week of fun, then we will be moving to Utah the next Monday. We are both so excited. We are going up to Salt Lake this weekend to finalize the paperwork and to look at some houses. There is one I have my eye on that I absolutely LOVE hopefully we can work something out!! Aaron has worked so hard these bast 3 years and I am so proud of him! He is graduating at the top of his class and has been so great at juggling everything he has to do and still always has time to spend with this family! I love you babe!

I know, I know I am the worst blogger!! We have been crazy busy. With potty training ( Zoe now goes potty in the big potty very consistently I LOVE not doing diapers and Zoe loves all the fun different underwear she gets to wear), and with Aaron finishing up school!! He only has about 20 days left!! We can't wait! Aaron accepted a job doing Orthopedic Surgery in Salt Lake City. He was offered a job in Kansas City but we couldn't move Zoe that far away from our parents. Aarons family is so excited and my family is sad but grateful that we won't be in Kansas City!! We are leaving after our Disneyland Trip in the beginning of November. I will still be in Vegas one weekend a month. I have a few clients that have to have me do there hair and it works for me because I can bring Zoe and visit my family once a month and the clients pay for my trip! Its a Win-Win! I will try to be better with updates! I know I will have to be when we move to Utah or Aunite Kels and Mama Browne might kill me! I hope all is well with everyone! Aaron and I are so excited about these new adventures we are about to embark on and we are so grateful to our Heavenly Father for so richly blessing our lives with such great family and friends who have supported us over these past 3 years in grad school! While I was working yesterday, Zoe had a bad accident. One of the dogs chewed a cord on a lamp and Zoe some how sat on the part that had been chewed and she got a really bad electrical burn on the inside of her legs. Poor Zoe can't sleep but she is so tired but the burn just rubs and hurts her. I will post pictures later when I have a little more time. She got a blessing from her daddy and grandpa and she was able to go to sleep for a few hours. We are so grateful that the Lord is so watchful of Zoe. If she would have grabbed them instead of sitting on them the situation could be so much worse. We Love our little princess and just want her not to hurt anymore.

Mothers Day California style

Aaron and I went to San Diego for the weekend with the baby! We had so much fun! We went shopping to the beach and the San Diego Zoo. Zoe loved the animals but wasn't loving the beach. We thought that since she loves to swim and play in the dirt that she would love the beach. Boy, we were wrong. She was hysterical, she was terrified! We had to hold her the whole time! But it was still a great weekend it is fun to get away and just goof around!

So yesterday, Zoe was running a fever and I thought it was just teething. I gave her some Motrin and she seemed fine. This morning she woke up with a high fever. I put her in my bed and was playing with her and she wasn't really playful... so I left the room to start getting ready for the day expecting for her to come following close behind. She didn't get up, she laid there for thirty minutes staring off. I took her to see my uncle in the e.r. and sure enough she has strep. My poor little girl doesn't want to play at all. Anyone who knows her knows how active she is, but she is still just laying around and cuddling which she never does. We hope she gets well soon so that we can go back to chasing her around the backyard!!!

Our Weekend

This past weekend we went to Salt Lake City to visit Aaron's family and run the marathon. The marathon was such a wonderful experience. It was hard but nothing compares to the feeling of accomplishment you feel when you cross that finish line. I started crying I was so proud of me and Aaron. Never in my life did I think that I would run for 26.2 miles and actually enjoy it! We are already looking forward to the next one. We want to do the St. George Marathon so we will find out next month if we drew out for it! We also got to see family which was great. Zoe got to see her Uncle Taylor who will be leaving on June 18 for his mission to Uruguay. Aaron and I are so proud of his decision to serve the Lord. What a wonderful example he is to us! We Love You Tay.

Even though my parents have a pool for Zoe to play in, Aaron and I got her a small pool because she can play in it better. In my parents pool she either has to be held or be in a floaty and she hates that!

Zoe is learnig how to feed herself. She is pretty good, she gets about 1/4 of the food on the fork into her mouth! Then I gave her some pizza and she LOVED it for like 2 bites then threw it over the side to the dog. Silly Girl!

Rocky 6

So... during the fair Zoe was laying down and had a full water bottle fall on her eye. It cut it and bruised it. Poor thing, she took it like a champ. She screamed for like 2 minutes but i quickly distracted her with toys and she forgot about it!

Clark County Fair

On Saturday the whole family headed out to Logandale for the fair. The food was so good I think funnel cakes are the best. Zoe got to ride a pony kiss a goat and got her first black eye ( see previous post) All in all it was adventurous.

So Aaron and I are 2 weeks from our Marathon and my ilitibal band has been flaring up, so Aaron had me go in to have a cortisone shot with the doctor he was with. I was expecting for it to be immediate pain relief. Boy was I wrong. I was one of the few people who experience a steriod "flare" where basically in simple terms ( Aaron explained it in medical terms that of course went right over my head!) the steriod makes that area hurt even worse than before for about 48 hours. That would have been nice to know considering I couldn't walk for 2 days. But all is finally well and we are back on track for the race!

1st year molars

I know that every mother can sympathize with this! Zoe has been so not her self, fussy and irritable so I knew something had to be wrong. Sure enough I look in her mouth and there are 3 molars coming in! So we decided that she deserved a special frozen treat to relieve the pain! 2 popsicles and sticky hands later and she was running around happy!

Shark Reef

On Tuesday, Zoe and I went with some of my girlfriends to the Shark Reef. I thought Zoe would love it since she loves animals, but she was more interested in running around and playing with the "big girls" I had fun though!

Today is Zoe's Birthday! I can't believe how much she has changed this year! Zoe is by far the most amazing child! She is so loving and smart! Aaron and I love her and are so grateful that our Heavenly Father gave her to us and allowed us to be her parents. We know that she will grow to be such a strong daughter of God!
